NEW INSTALLATION
NEWLY INSTALLED - I am delighted to announce the newest installation of one of my images, IN FLOWS THE GENTLE TIDE OF AUTUMN. Selected for their residence in Greenwich, Connecticut, the collector couple were drawn, they said, to the visually soothing, restful, peaceful aesthetics of the early autumn coastal scene.
The large-scale (38” x 54” UF) work celebrates the peaceful transition to fall that the lunar tide offers. At water’s edge of a tidal lagoon, a high tide flows in and gently moves among the seagrasses and reeds, now expressing their autumnal colors. Succeeding rows of plants along the bank announce their readiness for fall with yellowing, browning stalks, or white, feathery spires. In the background, a grove of tall pines with their deep blue-green signal their visual availability or permanence throughout the coming winter season.
