'VANISHING POINT' WINNER AWARD IN INTERNATIONAL FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION

When I came across this swimming pool, I was immediately struck by the illusion of the late-day sun transforming its still surface into seemingly electrified currents coursing beneath and the fleeting tension of energy held in suspension.

Newly added to my OF CLOUDS AND WATER portfolio https://karenjordan.com/of-the-earth, ALTERNATING CURRENT  has just received a Nominee Winner Award in Fine Art among 5,373 entries from 71  countries in the prestigious 18th Annual INTERNATIONAL COLOR AWARDS international competition for fine art photography.

To me, this image represents the illusion of motion embedded within stillness - a visual paradox that invites us to question what is real and what is our perception of reality.

ALTERNATING CURRENT echoes a central theme in my work, an exploration of our perception not just of what we think we see but of how we see - how we rely on visual cues, how they are ordered or abstracted, to construct our own reality. Conceptually, my work goes beyond the depiction of a scene but is more a reflection of how the mind processes the visual world.  It is not just about what is seen, but how it is seen and understood.
