INAUGURAL MUSE INTERNATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION AWARDS
GOLD AWARD, FINE ART - A PLACE BETWEEN
Somewhere in Iceland, the lake is calm, the water smooth, the dark grey mountains and grey clouds are far off in the distance and a silhouetted lone fly fisherman casts his line, and waits. When I first came upon this scene, I saw this solitary figure, positioned in the water as he is, as someone in sync with himself and the world around him, and I envied him his serenity and peacefulness of place.
SILVER AWARD, FINE ART - IN MY DREAMS I FOUND A PEACEFUL PLACE
Intertwined stand of bamboo across the pond at water’s edge, the leaves of a nearby tree, reflections of a blue sky and giant falling bamboo stalks, both living and having-lived, I found this scene had a spiritual presence, especially during Covid-19/20/21 times, in its metaphor for the cycle of life.
