OPENING RECEPTION THIS FRIDAY

Black Box Gallery’s, Portland, OR, Juried exhibition: “Vision: Color Photography” features ROCKET, STREET CARNIVAL, FUR RONDY, an image from my Street Carnival series shot during Alaska’s oldest (and certainly coldest!) winter festival. Note height of snow piles in background behind rides and snow-filled Starjet cars.

Wildly popular with Alaskans and many from the “lower 48,” Fur Rondy has happened every February in Anchorage since the mid-1930’s. Toward the end of the festival occurs the famous Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race, nicknamed “The Last Great Race on Earth®,” with mushers and their teams racing an extraordinarily demanding annual 1000-mile race across Alaska, beginning in Anchorage and finishing in Nome, Alaska.

Opening Reception - Friday, December 6, 2019. 6-8 p.m. 811 E. Burnside Street, #212, Portland, OR 97214.
