NEWLY ADDED TO 'OF CLOUDS AND WATER'

WATER SUITE No.8 - A few moments before dawn with the horizon still unawakened, early rays light up the sky  in a serene pastel gradient and reflect their warmth, turning the water below into a shimmering peach color and revealing  a line of pound net stakes in the right middle distance.

Beyond a lagoon on Chesapeake Bay, at its widest point -32 miles - exists the perfect backdrop for capturing dramatic, changing patterns of light, atmosphere, weather, clouds and water. Newly added to my OF CLOUDS AND WATER portfolio  “No. 8” adds an atmospheric drama different from all other images in this suite.

Water and clouds are endlessly fascinating to me: they share an ability to transform light and color through reflection, absorption, diffusion, transmission.  As such, they wield enormous power to affect our perceptions and emotions.

When we come across this scene of utterly simplicity - there are no clouds, the water is still, the light seamlessly revealing itself - we sense that gradually the day is beginning. and we are offered a few minutes of quiet contemplation and reflection.
