NEWLY ACQUIRED IMAGE & ITS INSTALLATION

UNTITLED #1, VENICE

When I was in Venice documenting the daily life of a sixteenth century campo, or town square, on Dorsoduro, I discovered after a couple weeks of reviewing the processed slides that I had almost as many images of water reflections on the canals I passed going each day to and from my residence to the square.

UNTITLED #1,  VENICE  became one of my favorite of such images because it seemed to reflect the buildings, the sky, the colors, the mood - the essence of Venice.  Once I saw it, I felt it was urging me to refocus my photographic efforts from documentary work to fine art. Accordingly, I did, and that aesthetic of through-the-lens abstractions often accomplished by the reflective qualities of water, became the basis for my fine art WATER IMAGES exhibition portfolio.

I want to thank JSDesigns/Jennifer Sell who thoughtfully sent an installation image of UNTITLED #1, VENICE in the beautiful, serene ambience of the bedroom she created for her client.

Interested in other images of Venice or of water reflections? WATER IMAGES captures such scenes not only from Venice, but from Maine, Key West and Vero Beach, FL, Baltimore and Annapolis, MD, Norfolk, VA, Harbor, and Chesapeake Bay. URBAN IMAGES has a suite of reflections of night lights along the river Marne River near Meaux, France, and many other city images of Italian life.
